Sean has found athletic success in both water polo and swimming. He is a highly decorated athlete and the only 4-time Big Gun winner in school history. Selected as an All-American his junior and senior years in water polo and awarded the 2001 Illinois Water Polo Player of the Year, he continued his career at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.

While at Marymount:

2003 - Played in all 31 games
2003 - A career-high scored 10 goals
2003 - A career-high 10 steals
2003 - Opened the season with a hat-trick against Whittier
2002 - Scored four goals on 11 shots while playing in 12 games
2002 - Seven steals and three assists
2001 - Ninth on the team with eight goals
2001 - Shooting percentage of .667

Sean is the winningest coach in program history, with a record of 294-143-1 through 13 seasons. He has guided the Patriots to the IHSA state tournament 11 times, winning the championship with a 36-0 record in 2017. He also has three runner-up state finishes (2013, 2015 and 2016) and one fourth-place showing (2014). Wimer’s teams have won 11 sectional championships, including eight in a row through the 2019 season. Stevenson also has won the last eight North Suburban Conference titles with Wimer at the helm.

Today, Sean resides in Long Grove, Illinois.
