As a student-athlete at Stevenson, Wanland made her mark in the Girls’ Swimming Record Book in many ways. This is a summary of her highlights as a high school student-athlete:

Four-time State Qualifier in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007
Five-time Lake County champion 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard breaststroke, and 400-yard freestyle relay
Ten-time NSC champion in 100- yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual medley, 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard freestyle relay
Six-Time IHSA sectional champion in 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual medley, 200- medley relay
Earned All-State honors in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007
2004, 2005 and 2007 state champion in 100-yard breaststroke
2005 and 2007 Pioneer Press Swimmer of the Year
2007 Stevenson Outstanding Senior Athlete Award recipient
Inducted into Lake County Hall of Fame in 2017
