Tom Baumann was the first football coach in Stevenson history, hired in 1965 to lead the Patriots on the gridiron. Under Baumann, the Patriots went 67-67-3 with four 7-2 seasons. After 17 seasons at the helm for Stevenson, Tom went on to coach at several other high schools, including Libertyville and Grayslake, and also at the collegiate level at Division III Lake Forest College. He returned to the Stevenson staff under coach Bill McNamara, and was part of the 2014 IHSA Class 8A state championship. He is still on the varsity staff today during his 55th year of coaching football.
