Stevenson alumnus Patrick Joyce (Class of 1993) received numerous titles, awards and nationwide recognition. His accomplishments include:

AAU National Cross Country Champion (1989)
Junior Olympic National Cross Country Champion (1990)
Illinois State Cross Country Championship (1991, 1992)
Illinois State Track Championship at 3200-meters (1992)
Junior National Track Champion at 5000-meters (1993)

For those feats, he was selected as a member of the Junior Pan Am Games that were held in Canada. He was named an All-American in high school track and field and voted the No. 1 high school distance runner by USA Today.

In addition to being inducted into the Lake County Hall of Fame in 2001, Joyce has continued to coach runners and marathoners and has run a marathon on all 7 continents - completing the feat in Antarctica in 2019.
